MCM & MCZ CONTROLLERS

The ATF system consists of the sensor (ATF-5SYS), motion controller (MCM or MCZ) and the motorized ā€œZā€ stage. The Z stage is typically provided by the user.

The MCZ motor controller integrates the motion controller and the stepper motor drive circuitry. It can drive two-phase stepper motors with a maximum of 1.0 Amp per winding. It is also equipped with two PWM outputs for driving two high intensity LED Illuminators.

In cases when a larger stepper motor is required (exceeding 1.0 Amp per winding), the MCM controller is recommended. The MCM controller requires an external stepper motor drive, which is typically provided by the user. The MCM controller is also equipped with the PWM output for driving a single high power LED Illuminator.

The diagrams below detail the AF servo configurations with MCM and MCZ motion controllers. Typically, user provides the system components marked with the tan color.
