Production Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a Production Technician to help us assemble products on the Sensor Manufacturing Production department. This position requires Assembly Instruction (AI) reading skills, as you must follow the AI, Manufacturing documents and inspect your work for accuracy. You will be working with production team so you must have some experience working on a team. Mechanical or electronic experience is also beneficial in this role. You must be familiar with both hand and power tools, and you should be comfortable working in computers as part of your job requires you to input data into manufacturing data sheets and QC reports.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Build product subassemblies or final assemblies (including electronic / electrical / optics / opto-mechanical / mechanical assembly)
  • Maintain inventory of job materials.
  • Perform product testing, system level tests, and calibration.
  • Upload custom firmware/software on device and testing.
  • Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications.
  • Ability to use hand tools for precision sub-assembly which includes optical and opto-mechanical parts.
  • Ability to understand and read assembly instructions and manufacturing documents.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • College Diploma in Electronics / Electro-mechanical Technician or Technology program.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience in electronic assembly, function testing; optics assembly skills are a strong asset.
  • Ability to understand schematics and related manufacturing documents.
  • Knowledge on use of standard lab, test, and measurement instrumentation (ex. DVM’s, UV curing station, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communications skills (both written and oral).
  • Independent self-starter.
  • Good interpersonal skills and organizational skills.
  • Basic understanding of using Microsoft 365.
